Oh, my goodness, what an explosive read! There were so many twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat。 The characters are fantastic, and the writing is flawless! Willow and Gray are intense, addictive and phenomenal。 I loved seeing the interactions between these two! Overall fantastic read, I CAN NOT WAIT FOR BOOK 2!!

So good it left me speechless! I had this done in the first day of reading it。 I love the dark academia and paranormal romance aspects with this novel。 The fact there is vampire, witches and demons made me excited。 Willow is a very powerful witch and you do see her using her powers early on。 I enjoyed that it was duo pov from Willow and Grey。 That cliffhanger was amazing and can’t wait for the next book to come out。 I highly recommend this book!I received an advance review copy for free, and I a So good it left me speechless! Omg this book was amazing。 I could not put it down。 This is dark and twist。 Williow is the descendent of a powerful witch line。 Grey is in charge of bring her to Crystal Hollow。 This book has so many twist that all you can do is read to see what will happen。 That ending omg I need book two now!

To be or not to be?This story had me on my toes the entire read。 I loved the characters and unique plot line。 You might think you know what will happen but the details open up at the end for an interesting conclusion then CLIFFHANGER! To do or not to do? That is the real question。 Such a great read!

It’s been so long since I’ve read a truly well-done paranormal romance, and The Coven was exactly what I needed。 Willow and Gray both fall into that morally grey category, which was cool to read。 There really isn’t one single character that is “good”。 I enjoyed the lore and word building, the spice, and the twists and turns。I would definitely recommend and am already looking forward to the next book in the series!

I am attempting to put together some more coherent thoughts now that I've sat with this for awhile。 I think the ending left me a bit speechless (in the best way)。Honestly, the beginning of this wasn't great。 We jumped in fairly quickly and I feel like it took awhile for me to find any kind of footing。 It might have been effective if the main character was lost/confused, but for the most part she was overly competent。 It left me feeling like I was missing pieces。 I especially felt like the school I am attempting to put together some more coherent thoughts now that I've sat with this for awhile。 I think the ending left me a bit speechless (in the best way)。Honestly, the beginning of this wasn't great。 We jumped in fairly quickly and I feel like it took awhile for me to find any kind of footing。 It might have been effective if the main character was lost/confused, but for the most part she was overly competent。 It left me feeling like I was missing pieces。 I especially felt like the school was underdeveloped; I didn't get a good understanding of what their end goal was (outside of Susannah)。 Willow attends history classes and we barely brush the surface of any kind of backstory, she's mostly there to flirt with the headmaster。 And while I enjoyed their relationship and the heavy flirting/banter, I do feel like it was a bit of a disservice to give us a gothic witch academy as a backdrop and not do anything to make it three dimensional。I do understand that this is meant to be the first book in the series, and maybe we'll get an expanded view of their world in the next book(s), but for now it feels like a bit of an unstable start。However, I really really enjoyed the story。 It scratched a brain itch for me。 Willow and Gray worked for me。 I liked the animosity and sexual tension。 I liked the overprotectiveness。 There's a great "I didn't know where else to go" / "who did this to you?" scene。I don't want to spoil anything so I'm treading carefully, but the ending made the whole book worth it。 There were pieces I predicted and pieces that surprised me, and it honestly felt a bit like standing in the middle of a storm。 So much was going on and it happened so quickly that I was left reeling, and I think that perfectly mirrors the way Willow was feeling。 I can't wait to see how things develop from here。Overall, I just loved the story in spite of its flaws。 。。。more

Willow, a green witch, has to attend a prestigious school for witches in order to keep her brother safe and avenge her murdered aunt。 With a hot, forbidden headmaster, an unsolved massacre at the school, and a secret quest, what’s not to love? If you loved the Netflix show Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, this book is for you!I really love the premise of this story, the different types of witches, the lore that is created, and the way that magic is used。 I feel like we have so much more we need to dive into for the lore and magic, that I’m hoping book two explores it all。 I did feel like this book would have benefitted from either being longer or having a lot more information and being split into two books。 The beginning was slow, and it wasn’t until about 50% where things started to progress。 Even though the setting is a school for magic, we only see Willow in class once? and don’t really learn magic with her。 We see her do magic she already knows and the students she meets, are for the most, part glossed over。 It was like the beginning of the book was super slow and then the middle was on fast forward when it should have been opposite。 Alaric Grayson Thorne very much reminded me of Orion from ZA, but never hid his desire。 I would have liked to see less insta lust and more angst, but thats just personal preference。 Iban, Iban, Iban, Iban。 Love him, wish we got more of him。 There was some confusion on Willow’s age, but the author’s team confirmed she is 20, and a line was added to the book to clear that up。 Her age had been my main issue throughout the entire book as it said she was 16 (in the beginning) and everything had been incredibly unrealistic and weird for a 16 year old。 The words and actions seemed to sometimes not match up。 Like Willow would say she hates Thorne, that every time shes in the room with him she wants to tear his throat out, but 2 pages prior she’s panting over him。 2 pages later, she’s saying she’s so attracted to him。 Then she would say he seems uninterested, but he never once said that。 The description says Thorne despises her as much as she loathes him, but he never once acted like he didn’t like her。 The description talks about the thirteen, but I don’t even think we met all thirteen? It feels like we were left with unanswered questions and missed out on what could have been a lot more plot。 Overall I liked the story and want to read book 2。 I will also say, THAT ENDING… EEK!
